Insects might look complicated, with lots of tiny legs, delicate feelers and funny shaped bodies, but they are really fun to draw and paint!
When we began thinking about making our board game, we started off by finding some clear photographs and images of hoverflies, dung beetles and mayflies.
We then looked closely at each of the insects to work out how their body parts joined together and what shape each part was.
We found these outline pictures were really useful.
Then we got stuck in to drawing our insects, using pencil and paper. You could use charcoal or crayons, pens or coloured pencils!
After that we filled in the colour using watercolours and thought about what colour would look good as the background.
Happy drawing!
