
Adult mayflies are really elegant with their long bodies, wispy tails and delicate wings.
They even look quite friendly with their big eyes!

But Mayfly young – the nymphs – don’t look quite so friendly!
They have the same long tail but the rest of them looks a bit more fearsome! Some of them have pointed pincers, some look almost furry! You might think they look more like little monsters than familiar insects!
